The Tule River - River Crew is work myself, and my fellow laborers were temporarily hired to clean the river on our reservation. What we are paid to clean up is broken debris, fallen trees, brush, branches, and any other objects that pile up and possibly cause water levels to rise. Also, we clean the river bed 50 ft. from along the river. When we aren't cleaning up, we burn piles from debris cleaned out of the river over the summer. We have 4 sawyers to saw what needs to be cut away from our work area, or anything that needs to be cut out of the river. We have crew members who swamp the sawyers taking everything out of their way behind, and around them when the saws are being used. The rest of us will go around the river cleaning up brush etc. that we are able to carry from the river.
Our job started at the end of June 2011, and we were layed off at the end of August 2011. We started again on Dec. 1, 2011 and we lost a few of our crew members. Right now we have 10 crew members including myself.
I have posted pictures I have taken on my camera at work, and were taken during a couple days. I hope you enjoy the pictures I have posted.
